    1. Put the flax seeds in the blender with water.
    2. Blend for 2 minutes until the seeds are broken completely. The shells will still be visible, which is good. We will strain those out.
    3. Place a strainer on top of the large bowl and put your cheese cloth or nut bag over it.
    4. Fold and squeeze your cloth to release all of the liquid, leaving behind the seed shells.
    5. Repeat this process once more to make sure it is properly mixed and strained. You can add in optional sweeteners during this second round.
    6. Pour into a pitcher and store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
    Recipe Notes

    Be sure to stir your flax seed milk before consuming as it separates during storage. Consume flax seed milk in small amounts as it can cause stomach issues like frequent bowel movements and bloating if eaten in excess.
