Make Organic Raw Almond Milk at Home
- 1 Cup Almonds Soaked Overnight
- 2 cups Water plus more for soaking
- optional sweetener like dates, honey, agave, or maple syrup
Soak the almonds overnight in enough water to cover the nuts.
Drain and wash the almonds. Discard the used water.
Add the almonds, water and optional sweetener to a blender.
Blend until it gets smooth for at least 2-3 minutes. Add more water if you prefer thinner milk.
Lay a cheese cloth or nut bag inside a strainer on top a large bowl and pour the almond milk inside.
Wrap the cheese cloth or close the nut bad and squeeze all of the liquid from the mixture.
You can toss or reuse the almond pulp for baking.
Taste the milk and add more sweetener if needed. Then pour into a pitcher and chill for future use.
Be sure to use your almond milk within a few days as it sours fast. Shake before each use as the milk tends to separate and thicken.
